The XLI and 1.3 M minicam digital cameras have integrated simple measuring capability within the imaging software that is provided with the camera. The measurement facilities with the XLI allows annotation, colour selection and multiple graduation settings. Once calibrated straight lines between two points will provide measurements in microns and millimetres.
Brunel Microscopes also supply Aequitas Image Analysis software. This is UK written software with client telephone support. Aequitas is a sophisticated measurement software with the ability to mark areas and shapes. Masking, cut and paste and image resizing are standard. Once calibrated against a known scale Aequitas can provide data on:
• detected areas in the defined region of interest
• user defined lines
• user defined circles
• discrete detected objects within the region of interest
Options on discrete detected objects include actual area, average, centre of gravity, maximum diameter,object count, object edge, perimeter etc. The software has the ability to embed Macro records.
